Did You Know? Mizuno axes are hung on a Japanese oak handle which means that in dryer climates your ax head may come loose! This is normal and can be easily fixed! Take a rubber mallet & gently hammer the bottom of the ax handle. This will "counter sink" the ax head. Then, using any hammer, gently tap the exposed metal ring sticking out of the top of your axe head. This will sink the wedge deeper into the handle, expanding the wood and negating any wobbles!
About Mizuno-san - Mizuno Seisakusho was founded in 1937 as a blacksmith factory that specialized in the forging of plane blades for woodworking. As traditional woodworking waned, they started forging more axes and hatchets, experimenting with different shapes and handles. The current owner, Isao Mizuno is a certified traditional craftsman in the region and crafts a wide array of hatchets and metal-working tools.
